Cancel a CarCancel-a-Car© Kicks Off at Kent and BacichThe Cancel-a-Car© program encourages students and their families to take action to help address global warming. The program focuses on home energy use, which is a major contributor of carbon emissions in the U.S. Here’s how the program works: All of the students have received a booklet of "Carbon Coupons". Each coupon describes an action that you can take at home to reduce energy consumption, such as replacing incandescent lamps with compact fluorescent lamps and using reusable grocery bags. Each time you implement an activity, your child returns the coupon to school and we calculate the total carbon reduction achieved by the school community. For each 12,000 pounds reduced, it's the same as canceling a car for a year. If you need more coupons, print them out here. Canceled Car Tracker
