Sending Effective Messages: As parent/child communication evolves into parent/teen communication, learn how to be heard. The Social Lives of a Seventh Grader will also be discussed.

Healthy Body Image, Wednesday, 3/26/08, 6:30-8:30 pm, Bacich Community Center

Presenter: Manda Hakimi Ederer, PhD, Child Psychologist and Director of the Eating Disorder Program at Kaiser Permanente Oakland

This session is applicable for parents of children ages 9 and up. Learn how to promote a healthy body image in your child. How to communicate with kids about their changing bodies, food misconceptions and how to spot trouble with eating disorders.

Mornings with Ellen Dodge

These are grade-level specific meetings that will help you learn communication tools and provide insight on your child's social development. Ellen is a Communications Specialist who works directly with our children on Character Education and is a highly engaging and empowering speaker. You will leave with great strategies to help guide your child.

Principal's Coffees

New this year, don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to connect with school principals & your child's Grade Level Coordinator for an informal conversation about what to expect at your child's grade level. The talk will focus on how to support your child academically as well as emotionally. We'll discuss predictable social scenarios, homework philosophy and communicating with your teacher, & programs that support your child's learning. Have some questions on your mind? Bring them along for the Q&A session afterward. Coffees will be held in the Bacich Library & refreshments will be provided.
