Bacich Bears News

Dear Bacich Community,

The Halloween Parade was such fun, what a wonderful Bacich tradition. Thank you to Amy Barr and Sarah Saven for helping organize the event and special thanks to all the parents who helped create such festive classroom banners. Check out these great photos of the morning.

Bacich Library

Students are so happy to be able to enjoy our library again, and so is Mrs. Warnick! I checked it out myself and found that students love to read and draw during lunch recess just as much as they love the new play structure.

Assembly – We will be having our second whole school assembly this Friday. We will focus on the character pillar of ‘Fairness’ and sing songs together. I am very excited for my first assembly. We have school assemblies on the first Friday of each month and the theme is always one of our Pillars of Character. October’s theme was ‘Respect’.

Principal Chat – Also coming up is my first Principal Chat on November 10. It will be held in the library from 8am to 9am and will also be offered in a hybrid format over zoom. The topic will be focused on our Literacy Instruction, using the Lucy Calkins’ Units of Study for Reading and Writing, as well as how we are integrating Social Justice books and themes through our choice of mentor texts. We will also discuss how you can support your child at home in the areas of reading and writing. Please join us for a cup of coffee and an informational chat about literacy.

Parent/Teacher Conferences – Conference week is right around the corner, November 16-19. We will have minimum school days each one of these days to make time for conferences. At the end of this week, look for an invitation from your child’s teacher to sign up for your conference on Parent Square. If you have any difficulty signing up, please contact our community liaison, Ivette Villareal, for assistance. You may reach her by calling our front office at 925-2220.
