Universal TK
The purpose of UTK is to provide equity and access to all four year olds. We believe in providing a UTK program that is high quality while fiscally maintainable.
Key Elements of KSD UTK Program:
KSD provides access to a 3 hour UTK program for KSD families through a partnership with local community agencies serving preschool age children - Marin Enrichment and College of Marin Child Development Program.
Eligibility: Child must turn 4 years of age by September 1 and be a resident of the Kentfield School District
KSD UTK Offerings
KSD UTK, Offered by Marin Enrichment
- Schedule: Three Hour Program, 8:15 - 11:15am (minor adjustments to schedule based on program operations).
- Staff: High Quality Early Educators employed by Marin Enrichment.
- Curriculum: California Preschool Foundations with focus on school readiness and social emotional development
- Location: Bacich School
College of Marin (COM) Child Development Program | California State Preschool Program (CSPP)
- Schedule: Subsidized 3 hour program. Hours vary based on need.
- Staff: High Quality Early Educators employed by COM.
- Curriculum: California Preschool Foundations with focus on school readiness and social emotional development
- Location: COM Child Development Center, 1144 Magnolia Ave.
- Full fee service program available, although limited space for prioritized enrollment (CSPP eligibility criteria)
UTK Enrollment Process
- KSD UTK Eligible student enrolls with the KSD and completes the Marin Enrichment registration process in the KSD parent/caregiver portal
- KSD/Community agency representative may connect with family to discuss options and next steps with UTK Program offerings
